Where do I BEGIN?
Buying a Home
SPEAK TO A LENDER
1. I've never purchased a home. Where do I begin?
The first step in searching for your new home should be to speak to a lender. They will be able to assess your financial status and determine what your price range would be. This will allow us to pinpoint the best neighborhoods and homes that match your criteria and budget. We’d be happy to refer you to some of some of our trusted lending affiliates. Just contact us for more information.
FIND YOUR HOME
2. How many homes will you show me?
The average buyer looks at four to seven homes. Be prepared—it could be the very first home that we show you! Or it may take a few more tries. Either way, its important to be prepared to submit an offer from the very first showing.
OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS YOU
3. Why should I use a
buyer's agent?
It’s important to remember that the listing agent first responsibility is to their seller. This could be a conflict of interest for you. You want someone who will look out for your best interests. As a buyer’s agent, we do not charge the buyer any fees; our commission is paid by the seller’s brokerage.
YOU HAVE OPTIONS
4. How much money do I need to put down?
There are many loan programs out there with different options for you. You can put down as little as 0% with a VA loan, 3.5% FHA loan or 5% or more Conventional loan. Once you speak with a lender, they will be able to advise you to which options would be best for you. We’d be happy to refer you to some of some of our trusted lending affiliates. Just contact us for more information.
CLOSING TIME
5. Will the seller pay my closing costs?
Every situation is unique, and every market is different. Whether or not the seller is willing to pay for some closing costs will depend on these issues as well as their personal situation, combined with your offer terms.
